KineticPark Hotel Deal Finalized
(Huntington) The Huntington Municipal Development Authority has officially closed a deal to build an extended-stay hotel at KineticPark. Yesterday afternoon, a lot in KineticPark’s commercial area was officially transferred to KineticPark Hotel Associates, LLC. for the price of $660,000. The developer plans to break ground for a TownePlace Suites by Marriott on May 1.
TownePlace Suites by Marriott is a mid-priced, extended stay hotel. Rooms are typically available as two bedroom or studio suites, with kitchens. The KineticPark TownePlace Suites will include 87 rooms, a breakfast area and small meeting facilities.
“This is the first extended stay hotel for downtown Huntington and it will be an affordable, attractive and convenient option for visitors and businesses planning a long stay in our community,” explains Bill Toney, Executive Director of the Huntington Municipal Development Authority. “It’s a benefit we can add to our marketing of the commercial area of KineticPark because companies want to provide out-of-town consultants, field staff and customers with accommodations that will be comfortable for an extended period of time.”
The TownePlace Suites at KineticPark is expected to open by March 2009.
